Gratitude Gardens
Gratitude Gardens is a half acre flower farm on a hillside in Forestville, CA. Andi Lameiro and Joe Sorensen took over this growing space from Kelley and Eric's Urban Gardens in 2020 and named it Gratitude Gardens, since this opportunity to start farming and working with the earth felt like the most amazing gift. Andi has been in the Sustainable Agriculture program at SRJC's Shone Farm and Joe was a volunteer and worked at the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center before they took over for Kelley and Eric.
Their focus is growing cut flowers, and they grow a variety of edible flowers for FEED, as well as some veggies and culinary herbs. They love growing edible flowers, since many are well-adapted to our climate and also provide lots of habitat and forage for pollinators and other garden inhabitants. Some of their favorite varieties they offer on FEED are borage, bachelor buttons, violas, calendula, snapdragons, and marigolds.
Gratitude Gardens grows with ecological and regenerative practices and only hand tools. They are not organic certified, but use only organic fertilizers when necessary and never use any synthetic chemicals or pesticides. Providing habitat for native fauna, fostering a thriving soil ecology, as well as supporting the surrounding ecosystem are their highest priorities. They are grateful to be growing for the community and stewarding this land.
