Allstar Organics
Allstar Organics is a certified organic Marin County family farm, in operation for 30 years. The
farmers, Marty Jacobson and Janet Brown, have production fields in Pt. Reyes and Nicasio, and
a certified organic production facility in Lagunitas, where they produce a line of 24 organic
value-added products including dried herbs, herbal salts and herbal sugars.
Allstars’ Nicasio field is located at Nicasio Valley Ranch, an organic dairy ranch that produces
organic milk, cheese, and pasture raised eggs. The ranch is protected by a Marin Agricultural
Land Trust easement that ensures it will remain in agriculture far into the future.
Allstar Organics produces a diverse array of organic and heirloom vegetables that are served
year-round at many of the top-rated restaurants in the Bay Area such as Quince, Seven Hills,
Flour & Water, Delfina, Routier, Lily, Che Fico, and Boca Nova, sold through a number of
prominent Marin County grocery stores, and weekly at the San Francisco Ferry Plaza Farmers’
Market, and through FEED Sonoma, a food hub and farmer cooperative that markets
collectively.
Allstar Organics is known for its quality and variety of produce. The
production year includes fresh onions, Calçot onions, garlic, peas,
fava beans, zucchini, cucumbers, Early Girl and heirloom tomatoes,
and a variety of heirloom winter squashes.
Allstar employs a set of organic practices that includes crop rotation,
cover crops, green manure, animal manure, and mineral
amendments, to maintain soil fertility. The farm employs low-till
methods and low-flow drip irrigation to conserve water.
Allstar Organics markets its products locally as part of a community-based food system. In that
way, FEED Sonoma has become a trusted and favored partner in building a local, diverse,
nourishing and sustainable food network. FEED is a critical link between the farm and the table
that ensures both producer and consumer are valued and respected -- a force multiplier in the
local economy.
As a farmer member, Allstar Organics is proud of the collective products and services FEED
provides. The farmers are well-represented by this unique, visionary, and timely enterprise, and
customers receive extraordinary value for their food dollars – dollars they can be assured go straight back to the farm.
FEED has actually made it possible to eat your values. Subscribers to the FEED Bin are eating
well, and at the same time, contributing to the continuation of farming as a way of life in the
region.
