.:: A New Hub ::.
Cooperative Farmer-Members at Olson Farms have offered up their Penngrove farm stand for FEED Bin pickups. It's located at 7000 Petaluma Hill Rd, just barely south of Sonoma State University. While it's not far from our HQ at Barn 5400 in North Petaluma, the farm stand boasts a glimpse into the operations of one of our farms AND offers Wednesday and Saturday pickups which we hope will add flexibility for your increasingly busy schedules. Plus! You can stock up on other farm goodies while you're there and say hi to the farm dogs. It's a win-win-win. Shoot us an email at feedbin@feedsonoma.com if you're interested in switching your location too this new hub!
Behind the scenes, we're working on expanding our hub availability to increase affordability of deliveries to areas outside of Sonoma County while continuing to cultivate community between FEED Sonoma and awesome local businesses. Got thoughts on businesses for whom a hub partnership could be mutually beneficial? Kelsey wants to hear them! You can reach her at kelsey@feedsonoma.com.

From Our Producers :: Field Notes
A few weeks ago, we alluded to a couple farms that have been dramatically affected by water shortages and restrictions. One of them, Front Porch Farm, dropped the news this week. Read their announcement here:
Dear Front Porch Farm Community,
Last week, we received notice from the California State Water Resources Control Board of looming water right curtailments throughout the Russian River watershed, due to severe drought. In response to this alarming information, and with our river ecosystem under threat, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our CSA program and radically change the vision we had crafted for the season. While we will not be able to irrigate, grow, and harvest the crops we had planned for, we hope to maintain and save our perennial crops. A handful of already-established summer crops will make it to harvest, and we will sell whatever is available through our farmers’ markets.
We are continually humbled by Mother Nature and remain committed to farm as responsibly and regeneratively as possible. We will continue to brainstorm, work, and adapt, while confronting the severity of climate change.
