Frequently Asked Questions

Intro to Wholesale

  • Visit www.feedsonoma.com/wholesale to create an account with us. Inquiring about an account DOES NOT automatically give you access to our ordering platform, but does notify our wholesale team to get the ball rolling.

  • All of our producers follow sound, organic practices, making their products some of the healthiest and safest to consume. Over 50% of our growers are Certified Organic, but obtaining this certification can be incredibly cost-prohibitive for smaller farms. Because we are familiar with our farmers’ growing and production methods, we feel their products offer excellent organic quality and reflect their integrity and skill. Our guiding principle is “know your grower”.

  • All farms at FEED harvest to order! This means FEED does NOT keep any inventory on hand. We ONLY harvest what you order. This ensures that you get the freshest, most vibrant ingredients possible, reducing our food system’s carbon footprint (since we do not have to refrigerate older product) and minimizing waste.

  • • All our products are harvested specifically per order.
    • Products are only available when they are in season in our region.
    • We are farmer- & employee-owned! The 1st multi-stakeholder fresh produce cooperative in the entire state of California.
    • All product sold via FEED is 100% source and producer identified.
    • All of our growers know exactly who is buying their product

Delivery

  • We offer delivery to virtually the entire SF Bay area. The further you are from our headquarters in Petaluma, the more we may need to dialogue to make sure we can facilitate and maintain a healthy client relationship to best serve our farming community.

  • Timing of your delivery varies depending on the stops our driver has to make beforehand. The roster of deliveries on each truck route determines when deliveries are made and this can change from week to week.

  • Delivery fees vary only based on our overhead costs, taking into consideration employee compensation and resources required to deliver local produce to your business. Our most recent delivery fee schedule is:

    • Peninsula: $20-$25 per delivery
    • SF and East Bay: $12-$15 per delivery
    • Napa County: $15 per delivery
    • Sonoma County, outside of Petaluma: $8-$10 per delivery
    • Petaluma: $7-$8 per delivery
    • Pick up from FEED: no charge

Billing

  • We have operated on the traditional Net 30 invoicing cycle, but since this is perishable product, and we are farmer-owned, we strongly encourage Net 15.
